The Release of Isaac
The biblical story of Abraham and Isaac
does not end in sacrifice, but in freedom.

The death of Isaac, Abraham’s youngest son, was narrowly avoided in Genesis 22:1-24. At the moment Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac, a messenger from God stopped him and had him sacrifice a ram instead. God only ordered the sacrifice to test Abraham’s loyalty. Some members of the Jewish faith believe that the sacrifice was meant to be spiritual; however, Abraham’s “imagination” got between his actions and God’s intentions. Modern day religions should not let their interpretation of their doctrine get in the way of their children’s health (mental as well as physical) or be the cause of the abuse of a child.
